MANTARRAYA HAT - Cactus leather

Esta nueva pieza es una re interpretación del EXPLORA hat, en una versión reversible. Esta vez, la inspiración de este accesorio fue la mantarraya, su hábitat marino, la migración por alimentación, que carece de aguijón venenoso en la cola y entre otras cualidades de esta inigualable especie, nos motivó a desarrollar esta gorra atemporal y genderless para los nómadas de la nueva era. Desarrollado en piel de cactus 

Acerca de Desserto - Piel de cactus:

La plantación de la que extraen el nopal para sus productos se encuentra en el estado de Zacatecas, en la región centro norte del país. Allí seleccionan y cortan sólo las hojas maduras de la planta sin dañarla, con lo que aproximadamente cada seis u ocho meses vuelven a cosechar en la misma plantación, libre de herbicidas y pesticidas. El material que no se utiliza para el producto es vendido para consumo humano a nivel nacional.

El cactus crece solo con el agua de lluvia, además esta familia soporta las bajas temperaturas durante el invierno y tiene espinas más pequeñas, por lo que es más fácil y seguro a la hora de cosechar.

Después de cortar las hojas maduras, estas se secan al sol durante tres días hasta alcanzar los niveles de humedad deseados. No es necesario ningún horno ni ningún tipo de energía adicional, como el gas, en este proceso. Una vez procesada, se obtiene la materia prima orgánica con la fórmula patentada, Desserto.

This new piece it´s a reinterpretation of the EXPLORA hat, which under the same name invited us to think of new shapes based on the same design. This time, the inspiration for this accessory was the manta ray, its marine habitat, migration for food, which lacks a poisonous stinger in the tail and among other qualities of this unique species, motivated us to develop this timeless and genderless cap for nomads of the new era. About Deserto - Cactus leather:

The plantation from which they extract the nopal for their products is located in the state of Zacatecas, in the north central region of the country. There they select and cut only the mature leaves of the plant without damaging it, so that approximately every six or eight months they re-harvest in the same plantation, free of herbicides and pesticides.
